Steve Jonesi broke out the Superman outfit and put his client on Friday onto a 54x28 monster. Why couldn't it have been Thursday when I was in his boat!!! This was the only fish they saw all day, and night as you can see. Steve works his tail off and when he says you'll throw until your arms fall off he's not kidding!

State record? Probably right on the magical 54 number. L*G*G/800 puts it at 53lbs, but look at the girth on this thing, from head to tail she is thick! She's still swimming, and from the looks of it she'll be eating again! Calling in sick tomorrow.....

Just got off the phone with him, he's still so pumped he nearly jumped thru the phone!

Yes, it was weighed, but not on a certified scale. The scale bounced between 52 and 54, but they were concerned for the fish so they didnt work too hard to get a real accurate weight. Who knows...

Could she be the state record later this fall? I think she already is, but if not she is close enough that later this fall there is no doubt she will have the mass to top the record if caught.
